Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Mood Dial ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
What Mood Dial Does
Mood Dial is a mood-based music curation app for iOS. It helps you discover and play music through Apple Music based on how you feel. The App uses contextual signals such as time of day, health data (if permitted), and your preferences to suggest moods and queue music.
Mood Dial does not provide music streaming itself. All music playback is handled through Apple Music.
Apple Music Requirement
Mood Dial requires an active Apple Music subscription to play music. This subscription is separate from any Mood Dial purchase and is managed entirely by Apple. Mood Dial is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc.
Music availability, catalog content, and playback are subject to Apple Music's terms and may vary by region.
Subscriptions and Purchases
Mood Dial offers a free tier and two ways to unlock more:
- Free tier: On first launch, you choose one mood. That mood is free to play forever. You also receive 2 starter Mood Passes and can create up to 3 custom moods at no cost.
- Mood Passes: Consumable credits that let you play any mood beyond your free one. Each pass unlocks a fresh mix of music for any mood. Passes are available in packs and do not expire. Mood Pass purchases are non-refundable once consumed.
- Membership: A subscription that unlocks unlimited access to all 30 moods, unlimited custom mood creation, and every feature. Available as monthly, yearly, or lifetime plans, for individuals or families.
All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store. Membership subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your iPhone's Settings under your Apple Account.
Prices may vary by region and are displayed in local currency before purchase. Mood Dial does not process or store any payment information.
Health Data
With your permission, Mood Dial can read health and activity data from Apple HealthKit (such as sleep, workout, and mindfulness data) to improve mood suggestions. This data is used only on your device for generating recommendations. It is never sent to any external server, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.
Granting health access is optional. The App works without it.
Your Content
You can create custom moods within the App. You retain full ownership of any content you create. Mood Dial does not claim any rights over your custom moods or preferences.
Data and iCloud Sync
Mood Dial uses iCloud to sync your preferences and custom moods across your devices. This sync is handled by Apple's CloudKit infrastructure and is subject to Apple's iCloud terms. Your synced data is stored in your private iCloud container and is not accessible to Mood Dial or any third party.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws
- Attempt to interfere with the App's infrastructure or services
Disclaimer
Mood Dial is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Music recommendations are suggestions based on contextual data and may not always match your expectations. Music availability depends on the Apple Music catalog in your region.
Mood Dial is not responsible for any issues arising from Apple Music service disruptions, subscription changes, or catalog availability.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mood Dial and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
Changes to These Terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
